Since some of you who have recently been made part of our staff and don't necessarily have a whole lot of experience when it comes to moderating forums, I thought I should share my knowledge with all of you in order to make this easy for everyone and things can go smoothly.

I'm not an expert myself, but I might as well tell you what I know. If you still have some questions after this, feel free to tell me.

1. When you find a post you need to move to another forum, delete, split or anything of the sort. You can find the tools for them from the very bottom of the page where you can also make a reply.

2. If the topic is very clearly pointless and just wasting memory in the forum, you can delete it. But if you are not sure what to do, you can post it to the Basket and we will look into it. Most of the posts should be sent there so we can make the final decision unless it's very obvious.

3. If you see that a topic is in the wrong place, you move it to the right one, once again with the tool provided.

4. You can lock the topic if there is no reason to continue the conversation, but you also want to keep it there for the others to see. For example, in the Help forum someone had trouble with something and someone from the community gave him a detailed or good enough answer that fixed the problem, then you can lock the topic. You may also lock the topic if it's just meant for viewing.

5. As for everything else, when someone breaks the rules you give them a warning. If rules are constantly being broken, you let the Admins or Global Moderator know about it.

6. If you got nothing else, why not fix peoples typos in the messages they make here? That's what even I do sometimes.

7. And finally, since you're a Moderator, always offer your help to those who need it. It isn't just a rank, it's a job.


I'll add more stuff when it comes to mind, but there you have some for starters. Show us that choosing you was a good decision.
